Job Details

Location: Aspirus Wausau Hospital - Wausau, Wisconsin We are seeking an occasional Greeter/Driver/Valet who exhibits a positive first impression to visitors and patients and offers assistance as appropriate to promote Aspirus Customer Service. Hours will be as needed to help cover vacations, illnesses, etc. Responsibilities will include: Assesses patient condition to determine whether wheelchair service is necessary. Transports individuals via wheelchairs in the vicinity of the main lobby area. Observes safety precautions for patients and visitors at all service locations. Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to any age- specific needs of the patients. Responds to emergency calls according to established procedures. Maintains wheelchair accessibility in all lobby areas. Assists volunteer staff. Works at the highest level, utilizing a team-based approach while supporting diversity and cultural factors. Drives the courtesy van to and from all Aspirus Clinics and network clinics. Assists ambulatory individuals in and out of the courtesy van. Assesses patient condition to determine whether wheelchair service is necessary. Performs back up service when information desk is not staffed, including providing room number, giving directions and assisting clergy with information. This requires having information system access. Performs minor preventive maintenance on courtesy van. Maintains proper use of equipment and cleanliness of van and lobby area exterior. Responds to patient and visitor transportation needs promptly and turns in all required documentation. Requirements: High school diploma or equivalent required. One to two years of prior customer service experience preferred. Knowledge of basic computer skills, positive phone etiquette, knowledge of communication procedures and professional image. Excellent written and oral communication skills with a high degree of professionalism. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Ability to handle stressful situations. Ability to establish and maintain an effective working relationship with patients, employees, and the public. Projects a professional, caring image of Aspirus in manner and appearance. Maintains patient and visitor confidential information when inquiries are made, physician orders presented, and when working with computer systems or any paperwork. Experience in proper lifting methods and use of wheelchairs, walkers, etc., preferred. Possession of a valid Wisconsin driver's license necessary for courtesy van responsibilities, without excessive moving violations in the previous 24 months.
