Job Description**


**Job Summary:**


Administers prescribed medications to patients under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical/Vocational Nurse (LPN)/(LVN) and maintains related medical records.


**Responsibilities:**


+ Presents medication to patient and observes ingestion or administers medication using specified procedures.

+ Takes vital signs or observes patient to detect response to medication, and reports reactions.

+ Restocks medication inventories.

+ May provide direct patient care.

+ Assists patients with tending to personal care and activities of daily living.


**Qualifications**


**Licenses/Certifications/Registration:**


+ **Preferred Credential(s):**

+ Certified Nursing Assistant credentialed from the state of Wisconsin, and in Wisconsin Nurse Aide Registry with eligibility to work within a hospital preferred.


**Education:**


+ HS or Equivalent

+ High School Diploma or equivalent required. Completion of medication administration course required within two (2) weeks of employment.


**Work Experience:**


+ No experience required, but some experience preferred.
